Donate & Support Your Local Community

01 Jul 2019

During July, Midland Gate will be supporting the Swan City Youth Service Winter Appeal.

We are collecting donations of new wool socks, beanies, fleecy jumpers and beanbags.

Donations can be made at the Community Donation Wall located opposite Best & Less.

Did you know that on any given night in Australia 116,427 people are homeless? Of these, 27,680 are young people aged between 12 and 24 years. This winter, we're asking for your help to open the door for a young person to access warm clothing, nourishing meals and vital support services.

The Swan City Youth Service sees nearly 1,000 young people every year and homelessness is a common factor. Homelessness can be sometimes be seen on the streets but, more often, it’s invisible and can affect those people that you least expect.

With the coldest months now upon us, consider this. What would you do if you were homeless? Who would you turn to? What would you eat and when or how often? Where would you go for support? How would you stay warm?

This winter, Swan City Youth Service is asking for your help to open the door for a young person to access warm clothing, nourishing meals and vital support services. We’re in the business of helping young people lift themselves out of the homelessness cycle and your ‘Winter Warmer’ donation will help us in this journey.
